Trombone
Robinson Khoury is a young eclectic trombonist and composer now becoming a rising star in France. Spotted a few years ago alongside Ibrahim Maalouf and Natacha Atlas, he contributed to the success of the group SARAB and received a special mention from the Académie Charles Cros for his recent album "Broken Lines." He has been soloist in the Metropole Orkest and played in the Quincy Jones Orchestra in 2019. Furthermore, he has already performed with renowned artists such as Lew Soloff and Mark Turner.
With his new band MŸA, the trombonist, in a musical search for the organic origins of life, explores ancestral rhythms and sounds through electro-acoustic landscapes shaped by his modular synth. Rooted in jazz and Middle-Eastern scales, MŸA revolves around the wordless vocals of the band members.
In March 2025, Robinson Khoury has received the most distinctive award in France: Prize Django Reinhardt, Best Jazz Musician of the Year.
The trombonist has just been nominated for the 2025 Victoires du Jazz Awards in the category "Best concert of the Year".
