Violin & Composition
Florian Willeitner, born in 1991 in Passau, is a multi-award-winning German violinist, composer, and arranger whose musical career is shaped by the fusion of diverse musical cultures, including classical music, jazz, and folk music from around the world. His works are performed at prestigious venues worldwide. His musical language defines the post-genre concept of the young generation of musicians, where various musical styles interact creatively.
He has composed works for renowned orchestras, festivals, and soloists, including the Tonkünstler Orchester Niederösterreich, the Stuttgart Music Festival, Benjamin Schmid, and Rolando Villazon. For the 2024/25 season, commissioned works are planned for the Mannheim Symphony Orchestra and the Württemberg Chamber Orchestra.
Willeitner is a founding member of the New Piano Trio, with which he won the "Bayerischer Kunstförderpreis" in 2022. His style-defining works for the trio include the albums "np3," "I Love Pop," and "What The Fugue," released by ACT in 2024.
Since November 2021, he has been the first violinist of the celebrated vision string quartet. In 2017, he completed his master studies with Benjamin Schmid at the Mozarteum University Salzburg and graduated with honours.
His works reflect a deep engagement with Western music history and non-European musical forms. Florian Willeitner lives in Berlin and Passau and has been an exclusive recording artist with ACT Music since 2021.
