Belgian star trumpeter Jeroen Berwaerts takes the audience back to the ‘roaring fifties’: a time of change, freedom, and new sounds. Together with Benny Brown (trumpet), Giovanni Weiß (guitar) and Akiko Nikami (piano), he has created a programme that playfully breaks down boundaries – between serious and popular music, between concert hall and nightclub.
Works and songs by free spirits and icons of the era have been rearranged for this special line-up: Jacques Ibert, Jean Françaix, Henry Mancini, Dave Brubeck, Jacques Brel, and others – virtuosic, charming, and with great stage presence.
