Calm at the Château... An oasis away from the bustle of the world, where calmness envelops both the people and the place itself. The Château Palmer hosts three musicians for four days in late May and early June, in a setting rich in history and craftsmanship. It’s a time when the vineyard is in bloom, and nature’s delicate processes mirror the creation of music. Lars Danielsson leads this project, following the success of the inaugural duet by Michael Wollny and Joachim Kühn. He sees this as an opportunity to explore a new formula: a trio with John Parricelli on guitar and Finnish trumpeter Verneri Pohjola, recording in a salon with no studio barriers, just pure, intimate music-making.

The atmosphere is inspiring, with the acoustics of the salon playing a pivotal role in shaping the sound. The trio embraces spontaneity and risk, reminiscent of 1950s studios, where mistakes fuel creativity. The music reflects simplicity, brevity, and a collective flow. As Lars notes, beauty comes from simplicity, and this project celebrates all the senses, much like a Château Palmer wine tasting, blending the essence of music, place, and shared human experience.
